DABELI

Dabeli is a popular snack food of India, originating in the Kutch region of Gujarat.

Ingredients:-

  • 3/4 pcs pav buns
  • 300 gms potato
  • 50 gms onion
  • 50 gms tomato
  • 10 gms Oil
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 25-30 roasted peanuts
  • 5 gms finely chopped ginger
  • 50 gms Imli Chataka
  • 8 gms Pudina Chataka
  • 15 gms pav-bhaji masala
  • 5 gms sugar
  • Finely chopped dhaniya patta
  • pomegranate seeds & bhujiya for garnish
  • chaat masala and salt to taste

 

Method:-

  • Heat the oil and pop the rai and kadi patta for a few seconds.
  • Add the aloo and salt to taste and mash while heating for 2 to 5 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the stove and add the Pudina and Imli Chataka.
  • Cool and roll the cooked aloo into balls of the size of the pav bread.
  • Make the coating paste.
  • Dip the aloo balls in the coating and fry till golden brown.
  • Drain and cover with paper towels.
  • Cut the pav in half, butter and toast on a grill or pan.
  • Apply Pudina Chataka generously on the top half and Imli Chataka on the bottom half.
  • Place the aloo vada on the bun and sprinkle with finely chopped dhaniya.
  • Cover with the top bun and press to mash the vada slightly.
  • Serve hot
